In Melbourne they say that “if you don’t like the weather, wait ten minutes” – and I swear, it’s true. It’s so true it’s not even funny anymore. Obviously, it started pouring rain while I was waiting outside to meet a friend somewhere Collingwood, literally just a moment after I had thought how beautiful the sunset would look like that night. I ran around a bit, trying to find a roof to take cover from the rain while waiting, and then I suddenly found Rupert.

In the middle of nowhere, in the most industrial of all neighbourhoods Rupert (on Rupert) is kind of everything at once: café, bar, restaurant, (greenhouse?!). Luckily, it was open (very, very rare — the average Melbounre café conveniently closes around 3PM, just before the desperate need for on afternoon coffee hits you.) so I sat by the oven, drinking fresh mint tea, watching the rain and was almost sad my friend was on time.
